Copper naturally oxicides over time. To keep copper bright, use any of the following recommened methods:
- Metal polish such as Brasso.
- *Use as instructed and wear gloves*
- Wipe with rag or soft cloth until you reach desired shine.
- Lemon and salt.
- Squeeze about 1 tablespoon of juice of lemon and mix in 2-3 pinches of salt in a small cup or bowl.
- Wipe with rag or soft cloth until you reach desired shine.
- Vinegar and Salt
- In a small cup or bowl, pour about 1 tablespoon of vinegar and mix in 2-3 pinches of salt.

As you wipe, the cloth will develop dark green or black stains; this is normal. That is the oxicidation of the copper rubbing off.
Copper will look ashy as you wipe. Once, it is lighter in color, gentle wipe with a new clean rag or soft cloth to restore shine.
